Marriage
For Catholics, the Sacrament of Marriage is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: the loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values, as well as reminding us of the love of God for his bride, the Church.
Fr Steve and Holy Name Church are available to help you celebrate your marriage by appointment (6 months notice requested).

Pre-marriage Courses
Centacare Broken Bay offers pre-marriage courses for couples over a Friday night and Saturday. The
program provides couples with opportunities to discuss with their partner various aspects of relationships.
Dates of next courses:
Waitara: 20th – 21st June
Manly Vale: 27th – 28th June and 29th – 30th August
This program covers topics such as Family of Origin, Communication and Managing Conflict, Spirituality,

Golden Wedding Anniversary Congratulations
Rose & Brian Talty: A big congratulations to you both for your Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday 3rd May. Anniversary Congratulations
Congratulations to Bruce and Maria Shankland who celebrated 40 years of marriage on May 8th. Bruce and Maria were married at Holy Name by Fr Aquinas McComb, OP. They have six children, Richard, Martin, Julian, Luisa, Kieran and Imelda, 3 daughters in law, Elena, Caterina and Yana and 2 sons in law, Steven and Christopher. They have six grandchildren, Polina, Marcus, William, Alastair, Martin and Charlotte. On Sunday they received a blessing at the same alter where it all started back in May 1968!
